I can remember the first Saluki I had ever met. I drove up to NY to pick up Drumm from Trudi Jensen - Hounds of Cazimir. I met Ch El-Shaddai's Esther Shahar, and her daughters Cazimir's Kalia of Legend, Cazimir's Kumari of Legend, and Cazimir's Zaharah of Legend. I was entranced with these beauties! The next summer, I was invited to go to the Saluki Nationals. I knew nothing of Saluki, but bought a catalog and marked all the dogs that I liked, loved, and disliked. I instantly noticed a pattern - it seemed that all the hounds I really adored were all from similar lines! Not surprising, one line of dogs I really admired all had El-Shaddai in their background, including Miss Esther. My heart skipped several beats when I met Ch Cazimir's Kajit of Legend. I knew right then that I had to have one of his sons one day!
My first Saluki, Aijalon Smoky Rubyspot ThD AACR CGC JC, has been one of my greatest joys here. Sakeri (Bringer of God's Comfort) has lived up to his name, being Alabama's first Therapy Saluki, and currently the only Animal Assisted Crisis Response Saluki in America. My second, El-Shaddai's EZ Talk N Chezday, aka Kivah (God is my Strength), has been an absolute love. Finally, I was granted my little Son-of-Kajit here - Cazimir's Daaviid of Legend. Daavii brings with him a fine pedigree that I know will help found a wonderful line of Saluki here at Selah. Esther, Kajit's dam, is one of my favorite bitches behind him, along with Ch Baghdad Talk of the Town SC, Aziz Kabir, and Ch Qadim Kamar Ibn Kahlil.
